Evaluation Task - Institution Analysis

Institution Analysis

These are our two production companies, they are originally made by our group using app such as Adobe Premier Elements. As we knew we were making a trailer we didn't want to give too much time to the production companies as we wanted to spend more of our time on the action scenes in our trailer.
For our first production company "Horse Motion" we gave 1.5 seconds to the production company. We knew this would be a short amount of time but we thought it is a simple production company that doesn't need too much time to see. It was easy to make, we had plain white text on a black background saying the title of our production company. As for the horse we found 3 pictures of a still horse and as they all matched we found that we could merge these pictures together and make a smooth transition to each picture. This smooth transition made it look like one motion move and that is how we came up with the name. It was not easy making the smooth transition because if we even missed it by one second it could look worse and we didn't want our production company not working.
We thought about multiple ideas for our production company we spoke about the idea of a still picture with a title but we did not like this idea as we felt it was too plain for a production company as you mainly see production companies that are a motion. We also experimented with the idea of using websites that had pre-designed ones on there but we didn't like this idea either as we wanted to have an original image that we knew was our own, we also felt that they were too long as we were making a trailer we did not want anything over 2 seconds and these production companies were around 4-5 seconds long which is not what we were looking for.
As for the second production company "Infinite Films" we had this and it was a bit too long at first but with our editing and fading we managed to cut it down to 1.8 seconds long. This one wasn't as easy to make as the other one. As you can clearly see it does resemble the "20th Century Fox production title but as we changed the name and didn't use the sound that goes with it we had no copyright issues. We wanted to see this production company because it is easily memorable, when audiences see or even hear the tune they know the production company to "20th Century Fox" and we wanted audiences to know our production company. As mentioned earlier it was too long at first but as it was so important for us to use we found ways to cut it down. We used the fading tool to fade some parts to black and the audience would not see that it had been cut. So instead of a ineffective skip that would happen we replaced it with a fade to black, we feel this was really successful as it had cut down time really well and it looked like a smooth transition. We did run into some small problems with this production company as the copyright issue could of been a really bad thing for our movie but we overcame that by changing the title and the music. We also couldn't sync the transitions in very well and this proved to be very stressful but in the end we were able to make it look smooth and work well on time with the trailer.
