This is the poster of the popular horror/thriller movie "The Silence of the Lambs". From this poster we can take a guess at what the genre is as there are a few genre indicators, such as having the poster fade from white on the left to black on the right shows this is a dark film and will be scary for some viewers. We also see a skull on the moths body and the wings are fire colors this connotes to hell showing this movie is terrifying. Finally we can also see her eyes are red this connotes blood and death showing that there will be death in this movie. As a viewer i am also left with some enigmas from this poster and want some questions answered. For example the poster fades from white to black this could suggest that this women we see is a good person hence the white, during the movie she may have to do some bad to get some good hence the fade to black this makes me question what bad does this women do? Another question i am left asking is what does this moth represent? and why does it cover this women's mouth? Having this rare moth with a skull on its back could suggest death and this moth represents the death that is about to happen if we see the moth in the movie we will know someone is going to die. The final question i am left asking is why one of her nostrils bigger than the other? As the nostril is on the darker side it could suggest an evil version of her, a new person or it could suggest that the moth has something to do with her nostril, this is done on purpose and will have big significance in the film.
The title is written in red writing suggesting blood and death, the creator may have chosen to do this because it adds a scary effect to the poster and makes the viewer that little bit more interested in the movie. The colors chosen for this poster are all dark colors, such as the red writing, flame wings, red eyes and the white fade to black. Using darker colors adds to the genre indicator that the movie is a horror/thriller. The poster also has a unique selling point as it says "From the terrifying best seller" this makes the viewer want to see this movie because if it is number one it must be a good movie. The camera angle on the poster is a close up on her face this could suggest that the women is going to be important in the movie.

Robin Hood Prince of Theives Trailer Analysis
This is the trailer for the Robin Hood Prince of Thieves. In the trailer we can already tell that the movie is an action/adventure movie. We can see this because of the arrow firing and the chase scenes. We can also see a love interest which we tend to see in action movies to interest the female viewers. The music helps us realize it is an action movie as it intensifies as the trailer goes on, the song also went top of the charts for 3 months running. There are multiple genre indicators in this short trailer such as the swords. The swords represent some sort of fight sequence and we will likely see close combat. Another genre indicator to it being an action movie are the war horses, the horses aren't like normal horses as they have armour on and belts filled with weapons. This connotes to chase scenes which we usually see in action movies. The generic action movie shows car chase scenes and the weapons are usually guns but this shows the same things but in its own old fashion way, instead of cars we got to see horses and instead of guns we got to see swords, it gave us a taster into something new and it paid off as the movie was a big hit. A few other genre indicators are the blood and gore we see in this trailer, blood usually connotes to an action movie as the characters fight most of the duration of the movie.
Towards the end of the trailer we are left with a few enigmas such as why are these people fighting in the first place? Who is the main antagonist? We are left with these questions so we can watch the movie and answer the questions. The USP would be the actor Kevin Costner the reason for this is because Kevin Costner is a really popular actor and audiences would have seen his movies before and would know that they are usually good and popular movies.

IT Trailer Analysis
This is the trailer for horror movie "IT". The movie is shown as a horror movie throughout the trailer as there a few jump scares, fast paced scenes and intense music. The trailer shows proof of Tzvetan Todorov’s Theory of Narrative this is shown when at the beginning of the trailer there was an equilibrium when the two brothers are making a paper boat. This equilibrium is brief as just 5 seconds later we see the equilibrium disturbed by the clown in the sewer. We don't see the recognition of the disruption but they will recognize the disruption at some point as we see them trying to figure out who the clown is on the slide show and see the clown in a wrecked house. We also do not get to see the them fix the distribution and the return of the equilibrium this leaves us with questions such as will it be fixed and what will happen to the little boy, these questions make us want to go see the movie.
Trailers are meant to leave us wanting to see more and going to see the movie, this trailer is a perfect example of this. The disruption of the equilibrium gives us multiple questions for example who is the clown? and what happened to the child? This is just at the start of the trailer, as the trailer goes on we are left with more questions for example will this clown be stopped? The trailer leaves us on the edge of our seat and wanting more, trailers only show part of the clip the movie will be 2 hours long but they put down into a 2 minute clip for a 2 minute clip to make us watch the movie it needs to show all aspects of the movie which is exactly what this trailer does.
From watching the trailer we can tell the genre is a Horror. We can tell it is horror by many features for example a clown is stereo typically a scary character, another example is the scary intense music that gains pace throughout the trailer. The scary music connotes to something scary about to happen in the trailer its to build the suspense and to make us expect a scary scene.

Iron Man 3 Trailer Analysis
This is the trailer of the third in a Marvel Trilogy, Iron Man 3. During the trailer Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) is doing a voiceover, the aim of a voiceover is to tell the story or give credit information, in this trailer a voiceover is used to tell the story so far and describe himself and hes issues in this movie, The trailer is also shown using one liners to add a dramatic effect to the movie, the one liner used is from the antagonist "Never see me coming" while fading to black and showing the back of the antagonist. This adds to the dramatic effect because we see a antagonist that could cause some trouble for Iron Man, the use of the camera only showing the back of the antagonist is a dramatic camera angle used to show an important character.
We can immediately tell it is an Action movie because there are multiple explosions and big guns firing at Tony Stark's house, these all conform to the general stereotype of an Action movie as we usually see these things in the Action genre. During the trailer there is a montage of a series of shots from different points in the movie to highlight some of the most dramatic moments of the film and it tends to be fast paced. Throughout the trailer there is very intense music and creates the shocking and dramatic atmosphere for the movie. The titles are not displayed until the end this may be because they wanted to focus more on the actual film and have no interruptions of titles. All the stars of the film are showed throughout the movie most with shocked and dramatic looks, they all look worried which adds more excitement to the movie because it proves Iron Man has his toughest test yet.
The target audience for this movie would be teenage boys and girls and families because Marvel like to aim at the younger teenage generation for their films but families could also enjoy this movie because it is family friendly. Teenage boys feel like the main aim because teenage boys probably grew up reading the comics of the Iron Man and now they can watch the movies.
The trailer uses sound well throughout the movie as the music adds a more intense and dramatic effect to the movie, the music plays an important role in this trailer to create the atmosphere. There are also little sound effects such as iron mans suit sound effects to add excitement for the target audience as they would already know the sound. The sound is also used well with the voiceover this adds important information that adds to the story line of the movie.
The trailer adds some effective and dramatic camera shots to show important characters and who the next antagonist is, the camera also shows important events throughout the clip as it works well with editing because it shows important events in a face paced and in a montage. The camera shows the important stars in this movie to tell the audience these are characters who play big roles in the movie. The camera also works well with sound because when they say dramatic one liners the camera shows the characters after or during.
The trailer also uses mise-en-scene very well because it shows different Iron Man suits to conform to the action genre and show that this still is an Iron Man movie. The end of the trailer shows multiple suits in what looks like a big final fight scene, mise-en-scene is used well as it shows this is an Iron Man movie. The camera shots show the suits flying above the camera and shows that there is a lot of the suits.
Finally the trailer also uses good editing as the whole trailer is used as if it is a montage of all the important events and is very fast paced. The camera helps the editing as these fast paced scenes are showing huge moments that could be very dramatic but because it goes so quick you cannot see it.

Digital Technology
Construction and Research
In the construction of our media project we used a few different media technologies that we had researched before on YouTube. We had a few issues with other media technologies so we had to go deep into our research to find the perfect one to suit our scifi genre. we also had to buy a few props we bought them from amazon and used them all in our film. In our research we struggled to find the perfect software to add CGI effect to our sci fi movie. If we were to change anything I would use adobe after effects the most as it was the better software of the 3 we found but instead we used all 3 and it confused us and caused a lot of issues. The equipment we used were an Iphone 6s camera if we could do it again i would use a much better camera because the iPhone camera isn't the best choice. The pros of our software was it allowed us to use some amazing CGI effects to add to our sci fi movie. Another pro of using the softwares we used were that there were multiple ones so if there was something we could not do in one software we could it in another software. There were a few cons with the software such as it got a bit confusing when using so many different ones we sometimes lost saved work. There were some pros with the hardware we used such as we used my phone to record all our scenes so we could easily send the filming from my phone to the computer. There were also some cons to our hardware for example the phone camera quality is not to a good standard for a movie. We used the software given to us by the school to make our production and use animation effect on both production companies for the film. We found the picture on Google and added a little edit to it on the software we added some music behind it using the sound tool.
